Our Staff Heroes

A big thank you to everyone who contributes their time, energy and efforts supporting the charities and good causes that we all care about. We aim to make a positive impact on our community and by helping as much as we can through a range of volunteering and fundraising activities, we hope to make a real difference.

Fully fledged mighty hiker
Congratulations to our very own Drew Kale, Account Manager, who recently completed the Lake District Mighty Hike for the fourth time with a new personal best of 6hrs 47mins. Drew raised a magnificent £3000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Lending an ear
Dean Connolly, ICT advisor, volunteers his time as a Jehovah’s Witness, offering comfort to people struggling with the difficulties of life and showing them how the Bible can help.
Caldy mini rugby
Currently coaching under 6s, Ian Corfe, Account Manager, is a keen supporter of mini rugby. “We encourage children to come and see if they like it. We try to develop their hand-eye coordination and listening skills, plus it’s great for fitness.”
RideLondon
David Mitchell, Graphic Designer, successfully completed over 102 miles raising money for Revitalise Respite Holidays and support the great work they do in providing breaks and experiences for disabled people and carers. Well done on raising over £400 for this great cause.
Helping to knock out cancer
Our Commercial Director, Danny Young, took part in a charity UWCB boxing event in-front of over 2000 spectators. Dan “De Lion” Young emerged victorious, raising a magnificent £1,795 for Cancer Research.
Mini soccer
Nickie Galvin, Office Supplies Advisor, is club secretary at Allport Hawks Junior Football Club in Eastham, looking after all the player registrations and admin for their nine teams, from under 7s right through to under 15s.


AC Hoylake

Paul Williams, Procurement Manager, has been volunteering for 20 years at AC Hoylake JFC. Initially roped in when his youngest joined the club he has since taken over the full running to became Club Chairman.

Tiny Steps

Tiny Steps is a non-profit making charity run by volunteers and established by the best friend and wife of Scott Burstow, Account Manager. When their oldest daughter was born with special educational needs and an extremely rare form of epilepsy it became clear there was a need for facilities within the Northwich area to help and support families in similar circumstances.

A whopping 60 pairs of pyjamas collected by Dawn from our customer services team in support of Pyjama Party Liverpool for children and young people who are homeless at Christmas.

Alana from our workwear team took part in a boxing event in Liverpool for Cancer Research UK in June. She raised a massive £960 and punched cancer in the face.

Becky from our print & design team successfully completed the Star Trekk Night Walk raising money for Southport hospice Queenscourt in memory of her friend’s dad.

Well done to Kayleigh from our workwear team who ran the Race for Life in memory of her grandma, Mary, raising money for Cancer Research UK.

After coming up with the brilliant idea to knit egg cosies with a chocolate egg inside for Easter in support of Claire House, Sarah and her mum Brenda were amazed by their success.

Expanding the range from chicks to dinosaurs and even unicorns they could hardly keep up with demand beating their £200 target almost straight away.

John Mulrooney achieved his goal of walking 10,000 steps every day in March to raise money for Cancer Research UK and raised an impressive £859.50 along the way.
