Our Environmental, Social, and Governance Policy

At Heatons Group our ESG Policy is not simply a series of documents but a policy embedded throughout our entire business and daily working practices servicing our customers, suppliers, and employees alike. We are committed to ESG as we strive to build sustainable, equitable, healthy, and diverse communities through a combination of innovative business solutions and exemplary environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.

This commitment supports every aspect of our business, as well as how we work with suppliers, including the manufacturing and distribution process, and the advice we give to customers in selecting solutions with the best environmental and social benefits.

Our ESG policy is supported through our values of honesty, passion, drive, support, collaboration and above all professionalism. The high standards we set in our business and code of ethics are demonstrated in the detail of this policy and our action plans and in all our daily interactions.


Factors include our business impact on the natural environment and reducing our overall carbon footprint, demonstrated in our environmental policy appropriate to our business.

We are aware of our environmental impact as a business and continue to take appropriate steps to mitigate that impact, setting environmental objectives and targets, implementing procedures, and providing training to help employees and contractors understand their environmental responsibilities and can then in turn seek to improve environmental performance.

Eco considerations are reflected in our daily operations and detailed in our waste management and carbon footprint policies which are regularly communicated throughout the business.

We aim to continue to be a 0% waste to landfill company by use of our waste collection company and reduce, reuse and recycle in all areas of the business to minimise the amount of waste we produce.

We will continue with the objective to reduce our carbon footprint by at least 5% on an annual basis through a series of initiatives, including but not limited to our vehicle fleet, energy sources to our buildings, buying locally where possible, and reducing, reusing and recycling throughout the business where possible.

Social Responsibility

At Heatons Group, we believe that social responsibility is about working together to implement our ESG strategies that will have a long-term impact and the wider communities we serve. We have a series of Social Responsibility Champions throughout the business to ensure that our policies are successfully implemented.

The impact on our communities is far reaching and ensuring the wellbeing of our employees is key to this. We aim to actively promote and support work-life balance, including sports and fitness and flexible working.

We believe in initiatives that do not just benefit our business but the wider community, that are ethical and encourage socially responsible trading. We understand the significance of the local community actively joining with local business and enterprises for a wider and deeper understanding of community projects. We also encourage our staff to take part in fundraising events and acknowledge their achievements.

We aim to achieve and maintain the highest standards of health and safety and provide a safe and healthy working environment for all our activities. We have an effective health and safety policy that is regularly reviewed and updated and communicated throughout the business.


Heatons Group has a diverse and progressive Board where responsibility for ESG is assigned throughout the business through a series of strategies and action plans and Champions.

Our Corporate Sustainability Committee oversees our policies and operational controls for environmental, health, safety and social risks, and is led by the Senior Management Team (SMT).

We hold ourselves accountable and aim to do the right thing through a series of processes adopted throughout the business that are actively implemented. These are assessed through measurable KPI’s, reviews and our due diligence processes on employee, supplier and client recruitment and management.

We have a Principal assigned to the programs under our ESG Policy. The Principal and SMT meet regularly to set goals, budgets and implementation timelines and monitor progress and results.
