Sims Compatible Purchasing

It’s easy to download a copy of our catalogue to use with your school’s financial management system (FMS). Simply follow the instructions below to download your file. Compatible Windows 7,8 and 10 operating systems.

Step 1

Prepare a Folder to download the SIMS FMS file.

  • Right click on your PC's Start Menu icon which is usually found in the bottom left hand corner of your desktopand select 'File Explorer' (Windows 8 or 10) or 'Open Windows Explorer' (Windows 7).
  • Select the C drive Local Disk on My Computer or This PC.
  • Right click in the C drive folder and you will be given a list of options.
  • Hover the mouse over the line that says New and select the Folder Option to create a new folder Name the Folder - for example HEATONS SIMS FMS.
  • You can now close the Explorer Window and can move onto Step 2, downloading the required SIM FMS file.

Step 2

Register and download the SIMS FMS Heatons file 2019/2020.

DOWNLOAD FILE

  • Download and save the file below into the C Drive destination folder you created in step 1.
  • Once saved, navigate to the folder you created on the C Drive and unzip it. (the destination should default select the folder you are already in)
  • If the download comes up with Heatons_SIMS.zip is not commonly downloaded and may be dangerous, click on the arrow to the right of the download and click on keep. You can then click on the download and it will open.
  • Press "Extract" You will now have a zipped and unzipped folder in this location.

Step 3

Update your system with the new SIMS FMS Heatons file 2019/2020.

  • Load FMS, entering a valid username and password, the user must have the appropriate rights to import a catalogue file
  • Expand the drop down menu entitled Focus
  • Highlight Accounts Payable from the list and move the mouse across to select Supplier
  • Choose HEATONS from the scrollable supplier list.
  • Double Click on HEATONS and select the 3rd tab Catalogue, now select Import Catalogue
  • The "Supplier Catalogue Import Window" will open, now click on the browse button on the right hand side of this window
  • The "Select Catalogue Location" window will now open
  • Browse to the folder you created (as shown in the above steps) and click Select
  • Once you confirm this selection the catalogue will begin to import and you will see the product catalogue lines upload in your progress bar.
  • Remember now when you place your order you can use the standard method of order creation entering the product code you are given.
