Heatons were approached by the college to come up with a scheme for their reception area following major refurbishment to the entrance foyer. The area needed to act not only as a reception for students and visitors to the college, but was also required to double up as a careers advice and student information station.

The college wanted the area to look modern and welcoming for both students and visitors alike.

We wanted to create a "Wow" factor upon entering the building, so we put forward a bespoke circular reception counter in beech veneer with a contrasting oak veneer top. Again, we followed through with branding by the means of a bespoke graphics panel mounted onto the reception desk illustrating the college's name and logo.

We complimented the curves of the reception counter with circular pod seating. We incorporated the colours of the college logo within the seating ranges put forward offering two tone colours to all of the seating. This not only met with the branding of the college, but also looked modern and funky.

The careers and student advice desks we bespoke in beech and chrome. Finally, storage had been an issue in the past for the college, so we had custom built floor to ceiling storage wall built behind the desks. This allowed easy access for the staff.

It has brought the reception area to life with students now using it as a meeting and social space.
